With our experience and teaching methods, our classes will give your child an immersive English experience that goes way beyond the standard of regular state schools in Japan.
To ensure our environment is the right fit for your child, we offer a comprehensive introduction to our school through the following steps:
Kids’ Trial Lessons
Experience our 3R English classes with our 1-month kids’ trial. Our 4-week trial allows you and your child to fully experience our curriculum and homework cycle to ensure it’s the perfect fit.
Why 1 Month? Based on experience and by listening to feedback from parents, a single one-off trial lesson isn’t enough for kids to appreciate every aspect of our school. Thus, with our four-session, no-commitment trial, pupils and parents can experience both the dynamic classroom atmosphere and our structured homework system. After their trial, kids will have been introduced to all the important fundamentals of learning English, be familiar with their classmates and surroundings, and be more used to hearing a British accent!
How do I book a trial for my child?
STEP 1:
Please make sure that you have read all the relevant parts of our website, including viewing the Callan method demonstration videos.
STEP 2: Enquiry & Consultation
Contact us via our [Enquiry Form]. We will review your child’s English background, including previous school history, time spent abroad, and Eiken certifications, etc., to determine the most suitable class.
Requirements: Generally students who are in elementary grade 2 or above and already have a basic foundation in reading the English alphabet.
STEP 3: Class Recommendation & Scheduling
We will propose a class tailored to your child’s level and goals. At 3R English, we offer a "1-Month (4-Session) Trial" rather than a single session. This ensures both you and your child can fully experience the lessons’ pace and the homework cycle.
Trial Fees:
Tuition: ¥11,900 (covers 4 sessions).
Lesson materials: Callan Method textbooks are provided as free rentals during the trial. Depending on the class level, a small fee may apply for specific workbooks. We will provide details during your consultation.
STEP 4: Your First Lesson
What to Bring: A lined notebook and writing utensils.
Parental Observation: To foster independence and focus, we kindly ask parents to observe the lesson from outside the window.
Video Sharing: We will share a video of the first lesson with you so you can see your child’s engagement and progress from the comfort of home.
STEP 5: Home Learning (Homework) Begins
At 3R English, "Lessons + Homework" is an integrated set. During the trial period, your child will begin their actual homework routine. This may include reviewing the alphabet, practising phonics, and doing reading and writing exercises.
STEP 6: Consultation for Official Enrollment
Hopefully the English trial will have been a positive experience for your child. We will assess your child’s motivation, skills, and suitability for the class, and if you wish to continue, proceed with the official enrolment and registration process. Please return your Callan method rental textbook to the teacher on your last lesson.

Q: Can a complete beginner join the school?

Our school is primarily for students in Grade 2 or above. A basic knowledge of the English alphabet and exposure to a class environment are necessary in most cases.
Q: Is the homework difficult?

Homework is set to the level of the class and assigned every lesson to ensure what was learnt is retained. It is an essential part of our method. We ask parents to simply support their child by checking that the homework is completed each week. An email will be sent to you after each trial lesson with the relevant work to be done.
Q: Can I watch the lesson in the classroom?

Due to limited classroom space and the need to maintain a focused environment, we kindly ask that only the student enter the room. Parents are welcome to watch from outside.
Q: Is there car or bicycle parking available?
Bicycles: You may park in the space in front of the classroom. Cars: Please use our designated parking spot. (if available).
Q: How much does the trial period cost?
The fee is ¥11,900, which covers one month (four sessions) of tuition. Please note that we provide Callan Method textbooks as free rentals during the trial period, so there is no need to purchase them immediately. Depending on the class level, a small additional fee may apply for specific materials, such as workbooks.
Q: Can I reschedule my trial lesson?
Please be advised that we do not offer makeup lessons for trial sessions.
